Recently completed Contracts
Woodmace has completed work on the following projects:
Empress Road bus depot, Southampton. Woodmace were involved in helping build this purpose built, energy efficient building that has all the equipment required to run a modern bus fleet. Through use of ground modelling software and value engineering workshops, Woodmace utilised existing site materials to create real savings for the client.
Reducing the amount of procured building materials not only enabled cost savings but reduced the requirement for transportation to and from site, consequently enabling the project to be delivered in a more sustainable and environmentally friendly method. The reduction in heavy goods vehicles required during the construction process also reduced the congestion and noise in the local area, continuing our investment in the Considerate Constructors initiative.
Waitrose distribution centre, Bracknell. This re-development of Waitrose's existing head office and distribution centre in Bracknell will enable the client to meet the continuing needs of existing and new stores, as well as ensure their continued presence in the area.
This complex construction was a real achievement for the Woodmace team, with all works and variations completed on time. The lighting for the warehouse facility itself is 20% more energy efficient than the Industry standard, with the heating for the offices provided by the waste heat from the refrigeration process, and the cooling for the offices coming from the chilled unit.
New Waitrose store in Wimborne, Dorset. Woodmace played their part in helping Waitrose open their new store 5 months ahead of schedule, which has created over 200 jobs for the local area, as well as new open public spaces.

Landmark Cobiax Flooring Systems installation at Queen Elizabeth School
Woodmace has recently undertaken the largest flooring system ever installed using Cobiax balls and cages in the UK, at Queen Elizabeth School in Wimborne. The installation totals some 6000m2.
Using Cobiax technology allows cost savings to be passed on to the client whilst enabling Woodmace to do its bit for the environment; reducing the amount of building materials required reduces the number of CO2 emissions during the building process.
New estimating and valuations package fully operational
