Woodmace are pleased to announce that it has successfully been awarded the Achilles Building Confidence accreditation.
In order to achieve approval for Achilles, the company had to demonstrate a high level of competence in employment of management systems, management of health and safety, and environmental and sustainability policy. There was a lengthy pre-qualification questionnaire followed by an in depth two day audit at head office, both of which were passed successfully.
The prestigious Salisbury Council Offices project has added to the award received from the RIBA by also achieving runner up at the Concrete Society awards.
“The wealth of experience within the Company enabled the formwork to be designed in house, and this combined with our highly skilled directly employed shuttering carpenters and concrete finishers resulted in the high spec finish that has been recognised by the experts. This is just one of a number of projects where we have completed both the Substructure and Reinforced Concrete frame, and our Clients are seeing benefits not just in package delivery and quality, but in cost and time savings as well”
Russell Crate - Projects Manager, Woodmace Reinforced Concrete Frames Division
2012 has got off to a good start for Woodmace; as well as securing four new contracts, a number of additions have been settling in to the Head Office support team. Opportunities arose as part of the planned growth the Company has undergone over the last two years, and we are sure this will only add to the already proficient ability of the Collective at Head Office to support site operations, resulting in an overall increase in service delivery performance.
To support our ongoing operational development Woodmace have recently invested in two new 13 tonne Excavators, and six new vans for the fleet. This further reinforces our ethos of continual improvement, and compliments our sustainable focus by reducing proportional fuel consumption and emissions via utilization of more economical plant and vehicles.
