Project: City Cruise Terminal—T5
Client: Brymor / Associated British Ports, - Southampton
Value: circa £3m
Woodmace are proud to have been involved with the new next-generation-ready and open access cruise terminal in Southampton. The cruise terminal benefits from roofmounted solar power and also has Shore Power connectivity installed.
Woodmace have provided the groundworks, slab foundations, drainage which have included deep excavations working around the tides, piling works and kerbing and paving.
Dock side working and the deep drainage meant that this was impacted by the tide.
To overcome the programme deadlines and tidal working. Woodmace had two teams working shift patterns (some starting at 4.30am to take into account the tides). There was also a main storm line that connected to a storm drain in the sea which we had to work around.
