As Christmas is a time of good will, we felt it would be good to get involved with ‘Hope for Food’s’ Reverse advent calendar collection.  It’s been well-publicised that many local people are struggling to meet their daily needs, without the added pressure of Christmas.

We decided to ‘help out’ local families in the BCP area by collecting donations from office for ‘Hope for Food’ reverse advent calendar.

Within our business we all gave generously to provide some of the ‘day to day’ basic food necessities as well as some Christmas treats to spread a little joy.  These will be made up into food hampers and distributed in December.

‘Hope for Food’ is a local charity based in Bournemouth set up and run entirely by Volunteers.  The organisation was founded by Claire Matthews in 2012 with the aim of providing life’s essentials on a day-to-day basis to people in need of help due to the current economic climate.

The charity receives no government funding so relies on the kindness and support of others.

Hope for Food has seen the number of families referred to them for help with weekly food parcels has been steadily rising and for the first time ever it reached 170 in one week!   They also provide twice weekly ‘Soup Kitchen’ providing hot meals and support to the homeless on the streets, as well as any essential clothing items.
