currently under construction
Woodmace are currently on site undertaking the groundworks, enabling, CFA piling, and reinforced concrete frame for this mixed use site on Poole Quay. The project is located on the old Poole Pottery shop site on the historic and prestigious location of Poole Quay.
The project will include a shop and 64 luxury apartments. As the ground works progressed, a high volume of oyster shells were discovered in the soil. These had to be removed to ensure the stability of the ground and to make certain that this did not impact the load bearing capacity.
Given the restrictive layout of the site and that it involves some deep piling solutions, access is a key consideration at all times. Logistics and planning are a crucial element to ensure the success of this project. By utilising traffic management plans to establish plant and deliveries do not take place at peak times, impact the local business and by the use of purchasing ‘just-in-time’ deliveries to make sure that the working zone of the site, due to the site being having boundary of a busy road just metres away from the historic Poole Quay. Woodmace are ensuring that our site works do not cause potential disruption to the surrounding businesses, retail facilities and the many visitors to Poole Quay. Work commenced in November 2020 and is currently underway.
